Srirangapatnam and Mysore trip

We went on a trip to the historical city and erstwhile capital of the Mysore residency Srirangapatna and Mysore last weekend. Being a history lover and an ardent fan of Tippu sultan I was able to visit the grave were he is put to rest. We went to Srirangaptna Sri Ranganatha temple for which Tippu sultan and Hyder Ali his father were patrons.

We then went to Tippu Sultans summer palace. Wonderful work of art in the form of paintings and some pictures of some of the Generals were present in the palace which is now preserved by the government.

Then we went bird watching in th ranga thittu bird sanctuary were birds from various countries have their nests and have their breeding grounds in a warm and humid atmosphere.

From there we went to the Mysore Maharajas palace and then to the Chamundeeswari temple and then visited the Brindavan Gardens next to the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam.

Pictures from the trip can be seen here .
